MIDRT USA 2026 introduces a new United States event format built around open class drone racing, tactical mission execution, vendor participation, and real-world capability demonstration.
Event Format
- Open Class Racing on a purpose-built FPV course
- All registered pilots receive access during designated practice windows
- Full rules and race format to be provided closer to event
Teams
- No hard team size restriction
- Suggested team size: 3–5 people
- Teams may enter multiple events
Participation
- Military drone pilots and leadership
- Industry partners and drone / counter-drone manufacturers
- First responders / law enforcement and approved non-military participants

Capability-based scenarios
Event 2: Aerial Point Defense
BLUEFOR defends a fixed point against an inbound REDFOR aircraft approaching from 3 km away. Success is confirmed by cutting the streamer on the REDFOR aircraft before it breaches a 500 m perimeter.
Event 3: Moving Vehicle Intercept
Teams identify a high-value target in a moving military convoy and execute a simulated kinetic strike before it exits the defined area of operations.
Event 4: Fixed Infrastructure Long-Range Engagement
Teams conduct a simulated long-range precision strike on a static infrastructure target at approximately 2 km, with battle damage assessment encouraged as part of the mission.

Registration
Pre-registration is required for participants, vendors, and C-UAS operators.
Safety & Requirements
Teams are responsible for their own platforms, batteries, chargers, spare parts, and support equipment. Frequency coordination is mandatory, and non-standard VTX / control link requests must be submitted by 1 May 2026.
